Shade of Blue is situated on a 40 hectare property that grows and sources Australian seeds. With vegetables, natives and flowers it is a wonderful place for birds, bees, butterflies, the occasional echidna, kangaroos, whistling kites and of course my dogs. A beautiful place for growing vegetable seeds, flower & herb seeds.
Growing seeds can be both rewarding and fun. Vegetable seeds, some flower seeds and herb seeds however have a shelf life of around 3 years for most, others have less so the storage of seeds is important. A hot shed, or hot room will destroy the seed, so if you have planted out that packet from last year that has been sitting in your shed or hot room, the likely hood of them germinating is quite small.
The practicality of growing 1000 carrot seeds, 100 cabbages, 50 capsicums etc. in 2 years is hard to do let alone in one. Thus I am offering half size packets which are cheaper and in the long run a more cost effective with a reduced likely hood of throwing more than half of your seeds away. This also allows you to be able to purchase a greater variety of vegetables for the same budget.

Quarantine restrictions:
Unfortunately, we do not know all quarantine restrictions that may be applicable to your state therefore all orders are shipped on the understanding that we have no control over any restrictions whatsoever and this responsibility is with the purchaser to ensure they have the necessary approval to import seed into their country or state.
We cannot be responsible for shipping delays, quarantine impoundments, or lost or stolen items. Once we ship an order it becomes the property of the carrier and recipient of that order, no further liability is excepted by Shade of Blue for quarantine-related or customs problems.
Returns and Refunds
We guarantee all our seed as being fresh and of the highest quality, however, we cannot replace seed or seeds that do not germinate as we have no control over how the seed was stored, planted or the conditions they were planted in.
Shipping in Australia
All states. Small orders are posted by regular post, no tracking number provided.
Larger orders are sent by satchel.
Orders over $50.00 are generally shipped by registered mail which provides limited tracking . A signature is required for registered mail.
